Visualization of the egg spindle plays a key role in the correct timing of fertilization, which has a significant impact on the quality of the resulting embryo. This sophisticated method uses non-invasive polarizing microscopy to closely monitor the maturation process of the eggs.

The essence of this technique is to monitor the structure of the dividing spindle, which allows doctors to pinpoint the optimal time to start the fertilization process. Fertilization, carried out by the ICSI method, is thus applied only when the egg is fully ready for successful and healthy embryo development.
