MESA/TESE are microsurgical techniques that we use when there's no sperm in the ejaculate (azoospermia), if there's erectile dysfunction or similar issues.
Before the procedure, your GP will do a preoperative evaluation, including an ECG. Our clinic accepts this evaluation if it's within three months. If you would prefer to have it done in our IVF centre, the nurses on the 1st floor will give you the order form.
On the surgery day, you’ll need to shave the area involved. The procedure is done under general anaesthesia and takes about an hour. Afterward, you'll rest for 3 hours in our inpatient department before you can leave. You’ll need to make sure someone accompanies home.
After surgery, take good care of the wound and keep the area clean. It's also best to avoid wearing tight underwear.
